Monsters’ Office

What it’s about

A push your luck game where you compete with other monsters to be the first to escape from the office without getting caught by the boss. Every round you decide: risk going on down the corridors, stop for a coffee in your safe zone, or challenge another monster to cross the rooms without stopping. And if you dare to go through both lost and found rooms, you take a treasure from the shelf.

☕

You decide when to stop

Every room you reveal brings you closer to the exit… and to the boss. When the first one shows up, the tension starts: knowing when to stop is worth as much as moving on.

😼

Challenge the leader

You can only challenge someone ahead of you. And watch out, because they can refuse, accept or raise the bet.

👶

Explained in two minutes

So simple you can play it with the little ones: just leave out the challenge card for the first few games.

Choose your monster

Nine office colleagues, each with their own token and three cards.

How to play

Get to know the office

The rooms are laid face down to form the corridor. On the race to the exit you’ll come across four kinds.

Empty rooms

Empty rooms

That’s right, empty rooms. Looks like the monsters here have already gone home: you move on, cool as you like.

x2 room

x2 room

The same room, but worth double: crossing it counts as two spaces instead of one.

Lost and found

Lost and found

There are two in the deck, and only if you go through both in the same round do you take a unique treasure from the shelf. Mind you, there are monsters hiding among the boxes too.

The boss

The boss

Exactly who you don’t want to see. There are two of them too: the first one only scares you, but if the second one comes up and you hadn’t stopped for a coffee yet, you don’t move at all this round.

With the light on or off

The rooms are split into two groups and each has its own card back. It doesn’t change anything that happens inside: it lets you look at what’s left to reveal and work out what’s coming.

Your three cards

Each monster always plays with the same three. Every turn, everyone chooses one, places it face down and they’re all revealed together.

Your character

Your character

You keep going and a new room is revealed. The further you go, the closer to the exit… unless the second boss gets in your way.

Coffee break

Coffee break

You stop. You stay where you are and keep everything you’ve moved this round, whatever happens next.

Challenge

Challenge

You challenge someone ahead of you to cross a number of rooms without stopping. They can accept, refuse or raise the bet.

Try it now

There’s a free online version, with bots if there’s nobody around. You play it on your phone, with nothing to install.
